He has stock in the company and his parents were high in management in the factory as they were descendants of Phipps. Will, his lawyer and his parents' friend, advises him to keep this knowledge to himself as well as be thrifty. Paul and Clarissa are also falling in love but they have one big obstacle, her mother. Clarissa is determined to have her way and with her friends by her side, she's going to derail any plans of her mother's matchmaking. She's going to University and she's going to have Paul. The deeper her and Paul dig, the more intriguing information they find. Can Clarissa really get what she wants?

A Good Man The Paul Robertson Saga Book 1 edition by Marc Nobbs Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This book is a wonderful story that follows a young man’s life as. The book is told from Paul’s point of view and that just makes the story so much more enjoyable as the reader follows his journey into adulthood. The author has written A Good Man with so much emotion that you can’t help but feel everything Paul goes through as if you are right there going through it with him. Any emotion you can name I believe I felt at one point as I read this book. Paul tells his story as he deals with the good and the bad times life deals him, from the death of his parents to his first honest true love. I don’t do spoilers so I will just say this book is a definite one-click. My only piece of advice would be to get part two while you’re one-clicking because the way A Good Man leaves you, you will absolutely want to find out what happens in part 2.

On a side note, I had never read Mr. Nobbs before but he has a wonderful way with words making his story telling very believable and honest. His characters came to life for me and I thoroughly enjoyed his writing style. 2 Thumbs up for a great book and I am looking forward to part 2 immensely.
This was a great coming of age story about Paul Robertson.

The story in this book was very well written and developed and the plot was steadily paced and kept me interested till the last page. The characters in this book were very well developed and I felt like I was there attending school with Paul and all of his friends.

I was sucked in from page one with Paul saving Clarissa from the jerk that her mother married and the tides change at school for Paul, there has been a clear line drawn about who should be with whom and what group of friends you should hang out with. Then there is Paul that has no rules, he feels what he feels and will help anyone that is in need of a shoulder. The events of that one night change the whole dynamics of the people at school and change the town that they live in. I did not expect the tragedy towards the end of the book, that really threw me for a loop.

I cannot wait to read book two in the series, I am interested to see what happens to Paul after the first book ends.
This is the first book that I have read by Author Marc Nobbs and I was pleasantly surprised. I went in not really knowing what the story was about. It is a romantic Coming of Age tale that has many emotional ups and downs. I thought the writing was decent, the plot flowed well and the characters were endearing earning this book 3.5 Stars from me.

I was intrigued by the prologue in this book, as I said I went in blind so I thought it was a very interesting way to start the book. It was also refreshing to see, it spoke of a husband and wife in their mid 50's whose love was still strong after 30 years of marriage.

I really liked Paul's character and I liked that the story was told from his POV. The journey through his years definitely kept the reader invested in the book and turning the pages.

I will say that some of the terms and slang I am not familiar with which made it a little difficult to read at times. The author did make an effort to explain the meaning but the way he did it in some places and with the same phrase was distracting.

Overall I think it was a great read and a nice intro to a new author. I will definitely read book 2.
